Guest Posting Services: How They Work, What They Cost and How to Choose One

What guest posting services do, the 4 service models compared, real price ranges from 1,518 listed offers, and how to vet a provider before you pay.

Guest posting services write or place articles on other websites so your brand earns a contextual backlink, referral traffic and visibility. They come in four models – managed agencies, self-service marketplaces, curated marketplaces and freelancers – and prices vary widely: across 1,518 offers on SEOlutions the median is $629, with offers from $45.

What is a guest posting service?

A guest posting service is a paid agency, marketplace or freelancer that handles the work of getting an article published on a third-party website with a link back to your site. Instead of finding blogs, pitching editors and writing the post yourself, you pay a fee per placement or per campaign and receive a live URL when the article is published.

“Guest posting” and “guest blogging” mean the same thing: writing content for another site’s audience. The service part is the outsourcing. Some services do everything for you; others give you a database of publishers and let you choose. Either way, what you are buying is access to publishers, the labour of outreach and content, and verification that the link went live.

How does a guest posting service work?

Almost every guest posting service follows the same five steps, whether an agency runs them for you or you click through them in a marketplace.

What are the five steps of a guest posting service?

  1. Prospecting: the provider identifies websites in your industry and screens them on metrics such as Domain Rating (DR), Domain Authority (DA), organic traffic and topical relevance.
  2. Content creation: a writer drafts an original article for the host site’s audience, with your link placed naturally in the body text.
  3. Outreach and approval: the provider pitches the site owner or editor, agrees the price and topic, and the editor approves (or edits) the article.
  4. Link placement: the article goes live with a contextual link to your page.
  5. Reporting: you receive the live URL and confirmation that the link is present and pointing to the agreed page.

How does it work on SEOlutions?

On the SEOlutions marketplace the process has four steps: choose publishers → confirm the quote → confirm the content → receive verified links. Every offer shows the publisher name, niche, DR, estimated traffic, AI citations, link type, turnaround and price before you request anything. Requesting a quote costs nothing; orders are normally invoiced after publication, and any prepayment that a publisher requires is agreed beforehand. The buy guest posts page and how it works walk through each step.

By default, SEOlutions writers prepare the article after the placement is confirmed and send it to you for approval; you can also supply your own finished article, which the publisher still reviews. Listed prices include writing the article.

What types of guest posting services are there?

There are four main types of guest posting service: managed agencies, self-service marketplaces, curated marketplaces and freelancers. They differ in who picks the sites, who writes and how much you can see before you pay.

ModelWho picks the sitesWho writesWhat you see before payingTypical pricingBest forExamples named on the pages Google cites

BrimCove’s comparison sums up the trade-off: a marketplace suits buyers with in-house SEO expertise; a managed service suits teams that want consistent placements without hiring for outreach, and you pay more for that service layer (brimcove.com, “Marketplace vs. Managed Guest Posting”, 1 September 2026). For how outreach-led delivery compares with buying a placement, read blogger outreach vs guest posting.

How much do guest posting services cost?

A guest post usually costs from under $100 for small blogs to several thousand dollars for major news publications; the price follows the publisher’s authority, traffic and niche, plus whether writing and outreach are included. Productized agency tiers on the pages Google cites start at $37–$200, while premium media placements cost far more.

The providers most often named for “guest posting services” are Loganix, FatJoe and Adsy, followed by GuestPostLinks, The HOTH, Stan Ventures and freelance platforms such as Fiverr. Here is what each one’s own page (or the cited comparison) says, so you can compare like for like.

  • Loganix – managed guest posts with pre-vetted sites; you can approve a shortlist; Essential Links from $200 and Authority Links from $400; about 3 weeks; rejected placements are replaced with an equal or better opportunity (loganix.com). Its standard product uses multi-topic sites; stronger topical relevance sits in the higher tier.
  • FatJoe – productized blogger outreach priced by DR tier ($72–$456), writing included, delivery from 14 days; sites cannot be pre-approved, placements appear in a dashboard (fatjoe.com).
  • Adsy – a self-service marketplace listing 150,000+ websites with filters such as Moz DA, Ahrefs DR and traffic, plus link monitoring after publication (adsy.com).
  • GuestPostLinks – described in Google’s AI Overview (8 October 2026) as offering tiered packages by publisher DA with in-house writing.
  • The HOTH – white-label guest blogging for agencies, from $300 for a DA 20+ placement (per brimcove.com).
  • Stan Ventures – tiered by authority and traffic, from $37, 20+ days, white-label reporting (per brimcove.com).
  • Fiverr – individual freelancers selling guest posting gigs from $5; vetting is up to you.
  • SEOlutions – a curated marketplace of 1,518 guest post and digital PR offers on 1,499 publisher domains plus 483 niche edits, every offer showing DR, traffic, AI citations, link type, turnaround and price.

How do you choose a guest posting service?

Choose a guest posting service by checking the sites, not the sales page: real organic traffic, topical relevance, editorial standards, transparent pricing and the link type matter more than a DR number. Use this checklist before you pay; our publisher selection standards explain how SEOlutions applies the same checks.

What should you check before buying?

CheckWhat good looks likeRed flag
Organic trafficSteady, real search traffic (check in Ahrefs or Semrush)High DR with almost no organic visitors
RelevanceThe publisher covers your niche or audienceA general “write for us” site covering every topic
Editorial standardsOriginal articles, edited by the publisher, few outbound links per postHundreds of obvious paid posts, spun or AI-filler content

Link typeDofollow or nofollow stated before you payLink type revealed only after publication
TurnaroundRealistic for genuine editorial approvalDozens of “quality” placements promised within days
Link protectionA clear policy for removed linksNo answer to “what happens if the link disappears?”
PromisesAgreed placement, verified liveGuaranteed rankings

Is DR or traffic more important?

Neither works alone: use DR and organic traffic together. Outreach Labs puts it plainly – a high-authority site with low traffic is probably a spammy link site, and a high-traffic site with low DR may rank for spammy keywords (outreachlabs.com). Add relevance and the site’s own publishing behaviour to the decision. Our guide to SEO metrics explains what each number measures.

Why look at AI citations?

AI citations show how often a publisher is used as a source by ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. If you want your brand to appear in AI answers, a placement on a site that AI systems already cite is worth more than one on a site they ignore. 445 of the 1,518 offers on SEOlutions have 1,000+ AI citations; their median listed price is $799, against $629 across all offers (29 September 2026).

What makes a paid guest post worth the money?

A paid guest post is worth the money when the publication has real readers in your market, the article is useful on its own and the link sits naturally in the text. Those are also the placements that keep working over time.

  • Relevance and readers: pick publishers that cover your topic and have steady organic traffic; AI citations show which ones answer engines already use.
  • Natural anchors and pace: use mostly brand, URL and descriptive anchors, and build placements steadily rather than in one burst.
  • Visibility as well as links: a strong placement also earns referral visits, brand searches and citations, not only a link.
  • No service can guarantee rankings. SEOlutions delivers the agreed placement and checks that the link is live and correct; rankings, traffic and AI citations depend on your site, your content and your wider campaign. Our editorial standards set out how we work.

Most SEOlutions offers are dofollow: in the 29 September 2026 inventory, 1,433 of the 1,518 guest post and PR offers are listed as dofollow, and every listing shows its link type before you order. Some experienced buyers also use controlled links such as PBNs, usually as a buffer behind a guest post or niche edit. They suit buyers who know how to build them into a link strategy; our buy backlinks guide explains when they fit.

For how experienced buyers choose the links they pay for, read our guide to buying backlinks.

Does guest posting still work?

Yes, guest posting still works when the article genuinely belongs on the host site – relevant audience, real traffic, useful content – and no, it does not work as bulk volume on sites that publish anything for a fee. The value today is brand visibility, referral traffic and being cited by the publications that search engines and AI assistants already trust. We answer the question in full in does guest posting still work?

How is SEOlutions different from other guest posting services?

SEOlutions is a curated marketplace rather than a managed agency: you see every publisher and its metrics before you request a quote, and you are normally invoiced after publication.

  • 1,518 guest post and digital PR offers on 1,499 publisher domains, plus 483 niche edits (inventory updated 29 September 2026).
  • Eight data points on every offer: publisher name, niche, DR, estimated traffic, AI citations, link type, turnaround and price.
  • 445 offers with 1,000+ AI citations in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews.
  • Prices from $45, median $629, from niche blogs to publications such as Reuters, USA Today and Forbes.
  • No payment to request a quote; normally invoiced after publication, with any required prepayment agreed beforehand.
  • Verified links: the placement is checked to be live and correct. No ranking guarantee.
  • 4.8/5 from 1,973 verified reviews on Shopper Approved (checked 8 October 2026) – see customer reviews.

Listed turnaround is two weeks or less for 1,452 of the 1,518 guest post and PR offers (96%); the most common listing is “7–10 days, often less”, on 778 offers (inventory of 29 September 2026). Each offer shows its own turnaround before you order.

Frequently asked questions

What is the average cost of a guest post?

There is no single average, because price follows the publisher. On the pages Google cites, productized agency tiers start at $37–$200 per placement and reach $456 for DR 60+ blogs (FatJoe). On SEOlutions, 1,518 listed offers range from $45 to $20,000 with a median of $629; major news brands cost more, while health or travel blogs have medians of $249–$299.

What are the best guest posting services in the USA?

The services most often named for this search are Loganix, FatJoe and Adsy, followed by GuestPostLinks, The HOTH and Stan Ventures. The best choice depends on your model: a managed agency if you want hands-off delivery, or a marketplace such as Adsy or SEOlutions if you want to pick US publishers yourself by traffic, niche, DR and price.

What are the best guest posting sites?

The best guest posting sites are relevant to your audience, have steady organic traffic and publish edited, original content. They are not simply the highest DR you can afford. SEOlutions groups its publishers by niche so you can compare DR, traffic, AI citations and listed price side by side before you request a quote.

Are there free guest posting services?

You can guest post for free by pitching editors directly with an article their readers want; many blogs accept contributions without payment. What you save in money you pay in time: prospecting, pitching and writing. Paid services sell that labour and access. Free “write for us” sites with no editorial standards are rarely worth a link.

How can I start guest posting?

Start by listing sites your customers already read, check their organic traffic and topical fit, study the posts they publish, then pitch two or three specific topic ideas to the editor. Write an original article for their audience with one natural link. If you lack the time, a marketplace or managed service handles the prospecting and outreach.

How long does a guest posting service take?

Turnaround depends on the publisher’s editorial process. The pages Google cites state 2 days (Guest Post For You), from 14 days (FatJoe), about 3 weeks (Loganix) and up to 4 weeks (Searcharoo). On SEOlutions each offer shows its own turnaround before you order. Be sceptical of dozens of “quality” placements promised within a few days.

What is the difference between a guest post and a niche edit?

A guest post is a new article published on the host site with your link inside it. A niche edit adds your link to an article that is already published and indexed. Guest posts give you more control over the context; niche edits can be faster to place. SEOlutions lists both formats with their own prices and turnaround.

Can I choose the websites my guest post appears on?

It depends on the model. On self-service and curated marketplaces you pick every publisher yourself. Some managed agencies send a shortlist for approval (Loganix), while others do not allow site pre-approval and show placements after they go live (FatJoe). On SEOlutions you choose the publishers first and confirm the quote and content before anything is published.

Do guest posting services guarantee rankings?

No honest service can guarantee rankings, because rankings depend on your site, content, competition and the rest of your link profile. What a service can commit to is the agreed placement. SEOlutions delivers the agreed placement and verifies that the link is live and correct; it does not promise rankings, traffic or AI citations.

For the difference in detail, read guest posts vs niche edits.

Which guest posting service should you choose?

Pick the model that matches your time and expertise: a managed agency if you want delivery without involvement, a marketplace if you want to see and choose every publisher. Whichever you use, judge placements by real traffic, relevance and editorial quality, and keep paid links labelled.

If you want to compare publishers before committing, browse 1,518 guest post and digital PR offers on the SEOlutions marketplace – every listing shows DR, traffic, AI citations, link type, turnaround and price, and requesting a quote is free.
